Clear Creek, which drops from the mountains just west of Denver, provides some of the most continuous white water in Colorado. The river traverses past Ponderosa pine, Juniper, and Douglas fir tree forests, old gold mine shafts, and through the historic mining town of Idaho Springs, which is where the Colorado Gold Rush began.
